We have had a sweet start to summer. As much as I want to be in my new home now, I am trying to be patient and enjoy the rest of our time here.
Amelia's dolls are dressed in their new summer "frocks." ;o) She is content to play with her dolls for long stretches of time. When I listen in, I can be sure that I will hear that one of her "girls" is having a birthday and the rest are in the throes of party planning. It is precious. She is precious.
Jack is not getting near enough pool time to suit him. He is constantly asking me to take him to the pool. Getting him ready for the water is quite the ordeal, because he requires just about every flotation device known to man to keep him afloat and right-side-up. I was always against using any time of aid in the water, on the basis that I didn't want my children to have a crutch. However, Jack is so very fearless and so very non-buoyant that I deemed it a major safety hazard to let him go without. While he is in the water, I am usually able to sneak a couple "crutches" off and force him to work. He does well, and I have no doubts that he will grow into a great swimmer!
A few weeks ago, we ventured up to BGKY to visit The Clubb House ... Uncle Derrick, Aunt Kiki, and Baby Neely. Kiki and I made every effort to get some cute pictures for the grandparents ... and this is most of what we got.
Amelia cooperated for a short period of time. Jack was more interested in all the swords (large sticks) that had fallen from the recent storm. Neely was just in awe of the other two.
Love this Bitty Girl!
If Neely could talk, she likely would have been saying, "Well, I never..."
I got a couple comments about where we were eating barbecue in Austin.
Yes! It was Salt Lick ... and wow! It was amazing! We will definitely be re-visiting this joint. I had never heard of it, but apparently I was the only one who hadn't, because on Saturday evening it was packed! So much so that the sheriff was there directing traffic into the gravel lot.

I have eaten bbq from the Salt Lick! I went to a meeting with a co-worker and her sister took us there to pick up take out one night. Amazing place and so good!

So, on a normal day, I would just go on and on about how tasty that food looks...
BUT SISTER ---- I am having FITS over those cousin pictures. FITS!!! OK, AK has gotten all growny on me. Like all of a sudden. Can you see it, too??? She is still just as adorable so I can't complain, but still, weren't our little girls just wearing size 2T bishops???
Now, JackJack - get back JackJack. Put that boy in the Strasburg catalog so you can get free jon-jons for life. He is gorgeous. It's the hair. And the eyes. And the skin.
Now, Neely Jo - thank goodness for baby Neely. True, she has grown, but right now she is the baby of the bunch. And I appreciate the baby. Especially when she is that cute.
So glad y'all got to spend some time at Clubb House before you head west. So glad you finally blogged, too. Geez.

Hi Kelly!
I Love the sweet smocked strawberry outfits! I also can't wait to hear all about your move to Texas! So exciting! Can I ask you where you find the vintage looking Barbie dresses? I would love to find some like that for my girls. Thanks!

Katie the kids are sooooooooo grown up!! I can't take it! The pics on the blanket of the cousins together just CRACK ME UP. But you got some really amazing shots of each child, wow! Neely is at that perfect age to take pictures...she sits still! And I adore their coordinating outfits, oh my!
I've been wondering the best combo of floatation devices as well. Looks like Jack Jack is already part fish!
I am so excited for your big move! I sure hope your summer is one of peace but steady progress toward your goal of Austin!
Great post, friend! Love seeing glimpses into your summer!

Beautiful pics of the kids with their cousin!
As far as your Jack swimming I highly recommend you run to your nearest Target or order on Amazon a "Puddle Jumper" my little 2 year old Jack is DANGEROUS around water and we have a pool in our backyard this is my favorite solution of the summer for $17.99 I can enjoy our backyard pool with my 3 kids even if my Jack is fearless and just jumps on in!

Haha! The picture of Neely slobbering seems as if she was hungry for that picture of ribs right below her. I love the crazy pictures the BEST and I have a few sitting around the house already. And Jack being fearless doesn't surprise me a bit! He is going to be a handful this summer, no doubt : )

Those precious babies are growing FAST!....Don't they always? Mine are 18 and 15 now, but I remember that age and boy, how I wish I could turn back the clock.
Katie, they are so sweet. Thanks for sharing.
I am praying that you have a safe move. I remember moving cross-country twice; once to California from Tennessee and then back again. Quite the experience, but meeting new people is always a blessing.....God Bless!

Isn't having a sister to share motherhood with the best? Neely is just precious - and it's so sad, but I love the pic of her crying in the middle! LOL! So adorable!! Praying that you guys have a super smooth move and that you're so blessed during the rest of your time in this house and in your new season in the next!
P.S. Your hydrangeas look amazing. Mine look, well, dead, haha! (Just planted them this year, so I'm learning!)

The house looks very cozy and warm in the photo. I want to live in that kind of house. It's simple and small, yet pleasant and cozy. =)
