A deadly, devastating storm hit Alabama and Georgia last night. Buildings and homes are gone. Some neighborhoods are gone. Many people are gone.
I set up a little "shelter" area under our stairs, and we were fortunate not to need it. Once the threat of danger had passed us, we turned in for the night, but it felt hollow, knowing that there were people right in the middle of it.
Today, I am thankful for God's promised presence. I am thankful that He is there for all those who need comfort and refuge. There are so many storms in this life ... I cannot imagine facing a single one without Him.

I'm glad you are safe, but I'm so sorry for those who have lost lives, loved ones and posessions.

So glad you are all safe!
Our joy and gladness over the Royal Wedding today, has been severely tempered by the reports of the tornados and prayer requests, that have come up on my google reader and Facebook this morning. Many Christian families have been affected, and when one part of the body hurts, we all hurt.
Blessings

I'm praying for all those who have lost family, friends and homes during these terrible storms.
So glad your family was safe.
I agree...God's presence is a comfort in the storms of life.

Katie, I'm so glad y'all are safe. When those tornado's are spotted so close to your home they leave you feeling so vulnerable. A few days ago they were tracking one that was headed for my sons high school and I remember just wanting to go get him, but couldn't because the sirens were going off. Just an unreal feeling...We were so lucking because it didn't touch down, but my heart just aches for those people that weren't as lucky.

I can barely read this post. It is so scary to me! I am so glad that you all are safe but you must get a basement when you move!
