....and y'all know that is exactly what we did. ;o) Anyone who knows me and Mike knows for sure that we love to eat. Thanksgiving meal is one of our favorites of the year, and the menu rarely departs from {our} tradition.
Our traditions also stipulate good barbecue as a precursor the day before Thanksgiving. Purely for sustenance for the upcoming festivities. ;o)
Oh, but I tell ya, there is a lot more to it than food. It's just the kind of thing I can't capture on film. More than ever before our little family is finding reasons to be thankful. I have learned a lot this year. We have been in some tight spots. We have experienced new things. We have been the beneficiaries of the Lord's grace and mercy and provision. Good gracious, I'm thankful.

Everything looks so delicious, Katie! We sure did miss you at Aunt Kathy's, but I can tell you had a feast as well! :)

What a feast! I'm so glad youall had a lovely thanksgiving. God is indeed faithful!!
Bless you
Claire
PS I so wish we had thanksgiving in Australia! Someone tried to start one around mid-year, but without the historical background, it didn't really take off. Never mind, we all have a good reason to give thanks EVERYDAY!

Is that turkey fo real? I am not a fan of the bird, but that picture on the blog made me want to reach right through the computer and grab a leg.
Now, the barbeque....I could/would eat that every day of the year.
Glad y'all had a great day. Lots to be thankful for, indeed.
Now, not trying to be all up in your business about YOUR blog, but post some pictures/stories of them youngins, would you?

I've seen many posts about Thanksgiving feasts, but your turkey is the only one that I would have wanted to eat. It looks perfect.
I'm glad you had such a good time, with plenty to eat and be thankful for. My word that food makes me feel so hungry!
lots of love xx

Katie - I really love my own family. And I really love the way my family cooks. But I'm not lying when I say I would really like to come to your house one year for Thanksgiving and have your food instead, ha! That looks gooooooood girl! And Halellujah for feeling God's mercy and provision sista!
P.S. I am officially suggesting that we do a pre-T-giving bbq next year at our house. :)

Yummy! Looks like y'all had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
I have been meaning to e-mail you. I found a piece of silver recently with "Amelia" engraved on it. Seriously, it was $2!!! I grabbed it up and I am wanting to mail it you, so send me your mailing address. It's for sure an "heirloom" ;)

That bird looks delish! I am going out on a limb here...breast side up? Haha! Shh...Don't tell Mom that I am making jokes. It is beautiful and so are all the other fixins (which I carefully inspected...no lumps in your gravy so Woot! Woot! for you). Next time you come to my house we will pretend it is Thanksgiving and you can make this meal for me. I will be very thankful. I am so happy I read this post tonight. I am starving and I have nothing tasty to eat. At least nothing is looking tasty after these pictures. Glad you had a happy holiday!

Dearest Katie,
I must admit that I come from people who choose friends (and friends are considered family) based on very fine, very high standards: gravy skills, biscuit skills, how one's babies behave in church...
I stand in sincere admiration of that gravy.
I should say I have quite a bit of catching up to do, indeed. Please accept my heartfelt congratulations on the birth of your lovely niece. There is nothing better than a big sister's love for her little sister's babies.
Sincerely,
Searcy
