Green Scene

In honor of the newly sprung season of spring (huh?!), Angela at Cottage Magpie is hosting a celebration for the color green.  Here are a few of my favorite green things...

...a hurricane vase filled with dried artichokes (did you know that in some places, artichokes are a symbol for spring?)...

P3200534

...a new bouquet of flowers for the mantle...

P3200493

...some new flowers for the yard from my mother-in-law...

P3200530

...this floral frog that sits in Amelia's room (it's holding two silver salt spoons Mike gave to me a couple of years ago at Christmas and a tiny dried rosebud from one of my rose bushes)...

P3200548

...this kinda sad looking violet that I am trying to nurse back to health...

P3200547

...this plant (I have no idea what it is, do you?) that I have nestled inside a, yup, chamberpot (this is in the master bathroom on a dresser in front of a big window...now, I consider myself an old-fashioned sort of girl, but I much prefer to use a chamberpot like this as opposed to its original, intended purpose!)...

P1160411

...this little trumpet rattle (I used to play the trumpet)...

P3200551

...this sweet little dress I wore when I was a year old (I am also going to put Amelia in it for her one-year pictures!)...

P3200550

...some new green toile shams I have for the soon-to-be-green guest room...

P3200554

...a green transferware tureen also for the guest room...

P3200557

Happy and blessed spring to all y'all out there!

Katie - that tureen is just gorgeous and the white linens it is sitting on just look heavenly!

Great Greens! Lotsa lovelies!

Love all of your green things! I especially like how you put the baby spoons in the floral frog.

Hi, I just came over from Kelli's she mentioned you today so I came to visit.
I love your blog. I noticed this post mentioning the plant that you don't know what it is. Well I don't either but my mother has one. It is the coolest thing. Very sweet and frilly. And it will grow like crazy in the right window. It will get really long and look really cool. It will need to be up high to enjoy it once it starts those long runners. We loved it so much we have tried to root it and can't. I am having camera problems right now but I'll try to take a photo of it this week. Thanks for sharing your decorating ideas. And I love your categories. I am off to read more of your blog.
Have a Happy and Blessed Day.

Your green is all absolutely beautiful!!

I know I've already asked you about your artichokes, but now that Cottage Magpie has all her "green" links listed, I'll come back and say how much I like all these other things in your post. I especially love that turreen and the green toile! I hope you'll share pictures of that room sometime!
