And, yes, if you noticed the Baby Tylenol in the picture, Amelia was sick as well.  This was her first time to be sick.  It was just awful!  I was so nervous that I called up to the unit where I work at the hospital.  I was so thankful when one of my mommy friends answered.  She said, "Katie, just take care of her like you do our patients."  If only it were that easy!!  Give me a sick ICU patient, I can handle that....give me my baby with a cold, I go all stupid!  Luckily, I was just getting better as she came down with it, so I was able to give her my full attention.  Nevertheless, the last two nights, she has been crying all night long and has not slept much during the day either.  Tonight, she has not had a fever, and I am hoping it is over.

And I also want to mention that I have really and truly The Best Husband in the World!  Not only did he take good care of Amelia while I was sick, but he took excellent care of me with nary a complaint!  What a man I got!

Now, I am off to go clean that TV.  Did you see all those fingerprints?  YIKES!

Just Something Different...

Who posts pictures of their toilet paper holder?  Well...I guess I do.

I have had this black hook for ages, knowing I wanted to use it in our bathroom once the renovations were done.  Here is the hook's new use (as opposed to its old occupation of junking up the cabinet):

The twill ribbon is fastened by a set of jewelry clasps I hand-stitched to each end.  They reside inside the tube, of course.

My Favorite Cookie

P1150393_2

Chocolate Chip Cookies

2 1/4 cups plus 4 1/2 tbsp cake flour (I use Swan's Down)
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 cup soft butter
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
chocolate chips

After mixing the flour, soda, and salt, cream the two sugars, vanilla, and butter.  Then, add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.  Gradually add in the flour mixture.  Stir in chips.  Bake at 375 degrees for about 10 minutes.

Oh, yeah....and don't forget to put you a pat of butter on a couple of 'em still hot out of the oven!   'Mmm-mmm!

There's an Old, Old Path

Sacred_grove

There's an old, old path
Where the sun shines through
Life's dark storm clouds
From its home of blue.

In this old, old path made strangely sweet
By the touch divine of his blessed feet.

Find the old, old path
'Twill be ever new,
For the Savior walks
All the way with you.

In this old, old path
Are my friends most dear,
And I walk with them
With the angels near.

'Tis an old, old path
Shadowed vales between,
And I fearless walk
With the Nazarene.

In this old, old path made strangely sweet
By the touch divine of his blessed feet.

Curtain Panel Storage Tip

If you have straight curtain panels that need to be stored away, you can wrap them around a cardboard tube.  (The one I am using to store the former dining room curtains still has a small amount of drapery liner on it.)  Did you know that folding fabric for storage can cause unnecessary stretching, fading, and wear to occur at the folded edges?
