Our Little Blessing

Drvacakatie Unbeknownst to me in this picture, Baby Amelia was starting to grow!  We were on vacation in the Dominican Republic with some friends last August.  It's unreal to me that this was almost a year ago!  As soon as we got home from the airport that evening, I took a test.  I think we were both surprised at first...then, just soOurlittleblessing_5 very, very happy!  My pregnancy with her was amazing, and the birth was (for the most part!) just what I had wanted.  ( Amelia's Birth Story, Our Birth Plan)

Home Sweet Home

Dsc00211_2 This is our home!  The first house we bought after we were married will hopefully be that house that sees us as grandparents.  When we were looking for a house, we wanted something in which we could raise a family...and when our children are grown, they can come back and know it as home.

Salutations!

Hello!  My name is Katie, and this is my very first blog.  I have been wanting to start a web journal like this for some time.  So here goes!

I am married to a wonderful man, someone that I know God set aside just for me.  His name is Michael.  I first met him when I was about sixteen, and I knew that I was going to marry him.  So, six years later, I did!  We have been married for four years now.  Just about 10 weeks ago, God blessed us again...with a beautiful baby girl!  We named her Amelia Kate, and we adore her.  I loved being pregnant, and I love being a mother.  Hopefully, we will continue to expand our little family one day.  Our home is in Georgia, and, unless life throws us a curve ball, we plan on never leaving.  And that makes us totally happy -- we love it here.  My husband's office is pretty close to our home, which allows me to meet him for lunch.  I work as a nurse in a critical care unit at an Atlanta-ish hospital.  Although there are hard times and sad moments in my work, I ultimately love what I do and could never imagine doing anything else.   I know that nursing is my calling.  I am fortunate that I have a flexible job.  I work two nights a week, which allows me to spend most of my time at home and with my family.  I love antiquing, cooking & baking, knitting (when I can find the time), and doing what I can to make our house a home.
